Solid roof structures are comprised primarily of 3 inch thick polystyrene panels capped with sheet aluminum which makes them good for weather proofing as well as sound baffling. You will hardly hear the rain hitting the roof.

More often than not, these panels are used in the construction of carports and sunroom applications because they insulate the room and keep air conditioning from escaping. These roof panels also come in 4 inch thick panels for those that prefer a more durable product. Each panel is 4 foot wide and snaps together in succession with the next.

There is another type of roof panel called a pan. They are corrugated 12 inch roof panels made out of 1/8 inch sheet aluminum. These panels are not insulated and are much cheaper, but less durable as well. These would be ideal if you like hearing the rain pound on the roof. Ask me which is right for your specific needs.
